kennysarmy Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Had this emailed to me: You are being contacted as your organisation uses a system that connects to the Learning Records Service (LRS). That connection will stop working unless you take action. Your system uses a web service certificate to connect to the LRS. The certificate will expire on 19 December 2021 and a replacement certificate is now available. To continue connecting to the service, this new certificate will need to be installed before 19 December. Have not got a clue what it's about - anyone else had this?
andy_b Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) Had the email. Ignored it as we only use the web portal. It did say this: "If you use the Tribal Maytas software then you may need to add a ‘Friendly name’ to the certificate – you will find this in the ‘General’ tab of the ‘Properties’ window, within Certificate Manager. Your IT supplier should be able to help you with this." If that is relevant to anyone ? Downloaded the certificate out of curosity: Edited November 18, 2021 by andy_b 2
smarties11 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Only required if you have systems / MIS that talks directly to LRS using their API. If you only access via a web browser, and upload / download your CTF files, it's not required. 3
MicrodigitUK Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 So if your MIS is SIMS.net dose this use the API in question? We have SIMS.net and have received this email, so I’m trying to figure out what action needs to be taken.
smarties11 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 No, it doesn't. SIMS exports CTF files which you manually upload to the LRS portal through a web browser. The email was sent in error to any Schools who used to use S2S, which has now been decommissioned, so the certificate isn't required. 1
