Dynabook PXE boot

Good morning Edugeek (ers),

My favoured IT supplier convinced me to give Dynabook a go however for the life of me I can not get it to PXE boot out via F12 and wondered if there is a trick I am missing.

I've tried the traditional F12, fn+F12, Del, Esc but to no success.

 

I have managed to do it by changing the boot order (which needed a bios update to make it work) so I know it will do it, but if I'm going to buy more of these moving forward, I need to know simple things like this work.

 

No doubt I'm missing a daft keypress or random bios setting so any help is useful. It's a Satellite Pro C40.

Did you set a BIOS password? On my 9 year old ones I have to press Insert sometimes, they are terrible.

Just figured it out..... you press "N"

 

Kinda makes sense for network however outside of the Surface (which has an excuse as it has no keyboard) this is the only laptop I've seen in 12 years with out F12...

 

Dynabook is off to a meh start.

Just Bought 10 Satellite Pro C40-Gs and could not get them to the Boot Menu, called Dynabook support and they have said you can only boot from different media by changing in the BIOS now!!!!

when I get a new load of laptops (inc dynabooks) I set the BIOS password , then the boot order to be PXE first. When windows installs the boot order is updated automatically. (I don't know how as you'd think a password would be needed)

I have finally found out that F10 gets to the boot menu, so much for Dynabook support!
