supportman Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 (edited) Its an exciting time in the MIS market, finally there are worthy competitors and people are switching. i thought it would be useful to track all the announcements. Please post any announcements in this thread of individual schools or trusts moving MIS. I'll start: 11/Nov/2021 Academies Enterprise Trust chooses Arbor as the MIS for its 57 schools - Arbor (arbor-education.com) 10/Nov/2021 Bromcom on Twitter: "Welcome to the Bromcommunity, @MaidenErleghTru, we're delighted to have you on board! #edTech #eduTwitter #MIS #SchoolLeaders #SBLConnect #SchoolSupport https://t.co/TJdRUWTVsz" / Twitter Edited November 12, 2021 by supportman 2
ABR82 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Do we need to rename this thread to "Who Bromcom are suing next?" 2
supportman Posted December 8, 2021 Author Posted December 8, 2021 (edited) Another 7 to Bromcom: Enrich Learning Trust - we most warmly welcome their 7 schools to Bromcom user family of UK’s leading MATs, LAs and schools. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/ali-guryel-18892715_were-pleased-to-welcome-bromcom-as-an-everything-activity-6873759979652870144-6G8p Edited December 8, 2021 by supportman
mthomas08 Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Can we post missing or new functionalities coming to MIS systems? With so many of us tendering, a thread containing a ton of information pros and cons would be useful?? or is it just announcements?

Sure start a new thread for that, this is just to track where the market is headed.

paulkerton Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Some of the bigger news out of BETT - A big win for Bromcom as they've picked up the 200+ schools in West Sussex County Council. All of the maintained LA schools are taking the full MIS, Finance and Budgeting suites as they've gone for the "one stop shop" option offered by Bromcom. If this is showing that Local Authorities are now confident of moving away from SIMS wholesale, it could really stir up changes in the market... especially after ESS has basically thrown their LA contracts under the bus if LA schools want "Connected SIMS"
supportman Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) Ahh yes I just mentioned this in the MIS move thread, nice big win. Edited March 28, 2022 by supportman
supportman Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 Bromcom wins West Sussex county council. We at Bromcom are proud to announce that we will be partnering with West Sussex County Council to supply school MIS, Finance and Budgeting software to 200+ West Sussex maintained schools in what is an unprecedented deal.WSCC is the first local authority to switch its schools wholesale to a cloud-based MIS and finance solution.West Sussex County Council have broken new ground and set an example for other LAs to follow suit, with a thorough procurement process which included significant school involvement and buy in. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/bromcom_edtech-edchat-mis-activity-6912009237392957442-iJPq?utm_source=linkedin_share&utm_medium=member_desktop_web
TechMonkey Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Wow, that is a big one. No idea how many schools the LEA still support but a whole county changing from SIMS is a real shift.
elsiegee40 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 various posts about Bromcom merged in here. Sorry if it confuses the thread a litte 2
RLR Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 We've just made the decision to move to ISAMS from SIMs. Been quite a lot of talks over the last few months in regards to whether it might be the right choice or not but we've finally decided to make the move. I expect a lot of bumps on the way but hopefully in time it will be the right decision.
2ilent8cho Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 We've just made the decision to move to ISAMS from SIMs After having SIMS for 15 years then moving to iSAMS a few years ago my condolences, I would not wish SIMS even on my enemies, nobody should have to suffer Solus 3. No MIS is perfect, but if I started ranting about SIMS it would cause a buffer overflow on this thread . iSAMS is bliss in comparison, fully web based so client platform neutral with individual Teacher, Parent and Student iOS/Android apps.
supportman Posted April 25, 2022 Author Posted April 25, 2022 Anyone know any Arbour recent wins? They don't seem to publish them on their blog but I hear lots of people moving to them as well as iSams and Bromcom.
sefton Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 I moved our two secondaries over during February HT and I'm starting with a new Trust this term, 2 secondaries and 4 primaries with more coming onboard during the summer, that I'll be moving over during the coming months. All moving from Sims. 1

ItechDave Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Moved 5 primaries to Arbor in the last four weeks.
sefton Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Where you off to? Arbor? Bromcom? iSAMS? That would be pertinent to the discussion, it is Arbor.
sister_annex Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 We're moving to Arbor over the summer (Single Secondary ~1500 pupils) 1
Jonah Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Our Trust (eight schools) went live with Arbor successfully last week, following an 8 week process. 1

Weird, I find SOLUS 3 to be completely pain-free to use. Never have a problem with it.SOLUS 2 on the other hand...Yikes.
