sparkeh Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Is anyone actually planning on going to this? Clicky
alena Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 No, but wouldn't mind the free memory stick! Although it probably wont hold much!
kmount Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 As if a memory stick makes up for the crap service we've had ....
GrumbleDook Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Yep ... but I'm on the video saying how good it is (ie how good it is when everything works ... we got shown it today and I felt quite Pinocchio-like!) I'll grab more memory sticks and other 'collateral' (don't ask!) to give out at the next Northants IT Managers' meeting.
Edu-IT Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Yep ... but I'm on the video saying how good it is (ie how good it is when everything works ... we got shown it today and I felt quite Pinocchio-like!) Will we ever get to see this video if we don't attend the celebration event?
GrumbleDook Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Not if I can help it ... I look awful. It will probably on the website somewhere and will also be on the memory stick. EMBC Schools will also get a variety of collateral so it may be in there too.
russdev Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Yep being that down road from me Got to go as being the head for the night Russ

sparkeh Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 Heh, after asking the question I completely forgot about the whole thing. Went to a cracking French restaurant instead Yeah, anything exciting?
Pottsey Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 (edited) ”As if a memory stick makes up for the crap service we've had ....” You can say that again it’s never been working since the change over for us. Since the changeover we haven’t had one single day of 100% working internet access. Every single day we effectively lose internet access after mid day. If this was a real company not a school they would have been scrapped ages ago for the very poor service. Eveyone here is getting really fed up up with the Internet and mail going down every day. It pretty much works 100% before midday. Edited June 25, 2008 by Pottsey
kmount Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Noticed a new link turn up the other day which is quite useful for keeping up with things that aren't explictedly spoken of. Portal Admin TCR Site 1

Show it to your LA and start talking about money back.

Pottsey Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 “Are you keeping a log? ISA is very handy for this. Show it to your LA and start talking about money back.“ Sort off, there logs show the problem, they acknowledged it’s a problem and I spent hours on the phone. Just they have no idea how to fix it. I do feel sorry for their support guy as he really has tried hard to fix it and we spent hours on the phone. But as nice as he was it doesn’t change the fact it’s still not working. Wasn’t even aware we could get money back.
sparkeh Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 Wasn’t even aware we could get money back. Well neither am I but its worth a try A tech from another school did tell me that they handed over their ISA logs showing their downtime, moaned like hell for a long time and received a rebate. I have no way of checking the validity of that story however. But I guess if the SLA is being broken then its certainly possible. Talk to your LA, they are, or should be, on your side
GrumbleDook Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Bit difficult to receive a rebate if it is top-sliced.
