Dansguardian Room Blocking

Hello All,

 

I have a smoothwall set up with Dansguardian which is currently sat here doing nothing, I'd like to have it as our main proxy server (rather than the ISA 2000 we have currently), however one thing is holding me back.

 

In ISA server i can block rooms by creating client address sets for the room, then creating a site and content rule to deny internet access to all users all sites, this works really well.

 

I cannot find a quick way to do this using smoothwall/DG, I realise you can add ip addresses to the bannedilist file, but I dont want to be adding ip's line by line or having to cut and pate to block a room.

 

Is there a way to include other ip lists, like you can in the deniedsites and deniedurls files?

 

Or is there a totally better way to do this?

You need the advanced proxy mod with now comes with the classroom extentions allowing the teachers (if you wanted) to switch of access to the room.

I have tried twice to get Smoothwall working with the DG mod with no joy :? I think it must be something to do with another mod installed like though as DG cant contact squid for some reason.

Wow, this advanced proxy is really really good, im well impressed!

 

If i can work out a quick way of deploying the ident service accross the domain today, i'll switch it over to the smoothwall this evening!
