[sims] Autumn Census - SR Engine stopped working...

Our admin are doing a dry-run of the Autumn Census and are getting this error...

 

I see there is a workstation Patch (1.19.127.1) for the Autumn Census and have read that this may well fix the issue:

So, my question is (as the user is having a meltdown) is there any way I can apply this Workstation patch to an individual machine?

 

Otherwise it is going to have to be done out of hours tonight and the user in question isn't in for the rest of the week...

Unfortunately not!

 

I had to remote in and ran the patch overnight to all clients (as I didn't get any answers about doing individual workstations), it seems the patch ran on the database and SQL server too - so doubtful it would work that way...

 

As above the admin aren't in now until Monday, so I won't know until then if it worked (I presume it should as the patch is 'Consolidated Workstation Patch - School Census Autumn').

Yes - in SOLUS 3 extract the patch to a folder. In the extracted folder is a patch to the database which you can run using DBUpgrade. Copy the rest of the folder contents to S:\sims\setups. This is basically a new pulsar.exe and some DLLs. On the machine you want the patch on run (from S:\sims\setups run simsapplication.exe

 

This reinstalls and pulls the new files over.

 

Done that for a few schools and it works fine. Bit of a bodge but it works.

 

To test if the workstation patch has applied to a particular station:

 

Go to Tools/Statutory Return Tools/ and in the drop down Update Funding and Monitoring should be an option.

 

If that is not there then the patch is not on that station.
