We've recently updated all windows 10 machines to 21h1 and all servers on the latest updates. users have come back and some printers are missing from machines! Guessing this is due to the printer vulnerability update.

The printers/copiers show when admin user logs in, but never show for standard users.

I have tried both GPO Printers and Login script to attach the printer - works for admin, but not standard users.

When the users login, they get nothing at all, no prompt or anything. the printer just doesnt appear.

The drivers on the print server are 'true' for packaged and I've tried adding the server to the point and print GPO settings with no effect.

On the machines, the driver is listed in Print Management.

What's the best way to resolve this?

Thanks.

I think the registry edit is working for now, so at least the users can print.

Drivers need to be installed prior to mapping.

Both in repository and the spooler.

Pnputil then add-printerdriver when scripting.

Drivers are already on the machine when i look in print management

Use the V4 drivers and set point and print as per Microsoft's instructions - Worked for me first time

What do you do about staff that need stapler/finisher options as I believe the V4 drivers don't have those options
