Theldron Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 (edited) Hi all, Resetting some DFE laptops (HP 250 G7) to be using in school last minute job, I can get them to install my school image, but then they get stuck on 'Checking the connection to Microsoft, this may take a while', and it stay on that, my normal school laptops on imaging don't do this. Not sure what is going on, any ideas? Thanks Edited September 1, 2021 by Theldron
tmoon-mint Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 AFAIK this is because they were enrolled in Intune and Autopilot before. When I reimaged these devices I found that they would get stuck on this screen if the date and time on the device was incorrect. You can get to the settings app and correct this from the oobe screen.
TLARWise Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 We had a similar issue and it turns out there was a Microsoft site blocked on our internet filtering system. Unfortunately I don't know what the site was as it was sorted by our Local Authority support team but may be worth checking your filter logs.
Michael Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 I've seen this behaviour before - it's simply a case of connecting an Ethernet cable or a USB Ethernet adapter, then an Ethernet cable. The newly imaged computer will then check into Microsoft and then continue as normal.
