IT_Man_Dan Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 Morning all, We've just got rid of RM unify and now manage our own O365 tenant using AD azure sync. I haven't used this myself for at least 5 years so need some quick assistance please regarding distribution groups. I've created a staff distribution group in AD which sync's across to O365. When I go into the exchange admin center and try to set so that only members of the group can email the group I get an error message saying that the group cannot be edited as it's synced from AD. Where can I set it quickly so that only group members can send emails please? Thanks
snagrat Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 You can set the authOrig attribute to define who can email the group
IT_Man_Dan Posted August 31, 2021 Author Posted August 31, 2021 You can set the authOrig attribute to define who can email the group Thanks although I now get the error 'There is no editor registered to handle this attribution type' so will need to look at why that is.
1an Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 Another way to solve this is create a rule in the Exchange Admin Centre in Office 365. In mail flow you could make a rule along the lines of: if email sent to group, delete, except if is received from…
3s-gtech Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 I think that’s one of the situations where MS recommends you still have Hybrid, to manage these rules. Pretty ridiculous to go back, of course. I suspect if you have a DC on Azure that ECP online can write to, it’d work fine.
