Occulus Rift software through firewall

Hi all,

 

Hope you are well.

 

I am attempting to setup some Occulus Rifts, that the school want to use as part of an IT course, but I cannot install the software, it says they can't connect to the Occulus Rift servers. Has anybody done this, was there any firewall rules that you needed to setup?

Trying to connect to facebook?

 

Don't know about the Rifts, but the Quests that someone wisely purchased here are pretty much useless as they require Facebook accounts...

Have you checked your filtering system logs to see what requests are being made? As the previous poster mentioned, Oculus is owned by Facebook so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was calling out to Facebook servers along the way somewhere, even if the Rift doesn’t currently require a Facebook account.
