Saadi_y Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Hi We are small private company in two storey building with 3 fob reader. Two a are connected to our paxton net2 v6 server. Fob reader form main is connected to other company’s system. We have been told that our Net2 client does not have functionality to pick up fob reader details from other company's network. their public IP address has been whitelisted with following ports open for UDP and TCP traffic 9999, 10001,30718,6474 / 6475,6476/6477 We have Net 2 Version 6.00.7619.6120 Can you please advise which client version would be suitable for this purpose. Thanks in advance
Saadi_y Posted August 13, 2021 Author Posted August 13, 2021 I just read the document Andy_b provided me . I think according to that document I need Net Pro. Please confirm. https://www.paxton-access.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/AN1006.pdf
Boredguy Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Might be wise to talk with Paxton, as not sure if a controller can be configured to work on 2 separate systems at once, since it needs to send the requests back to the server. As was suggested in the other thread you opened, any reason for not arranging for your access cards to be configured on the other system that the 3rd controller is currently on?
Saadi_y Posted August 13, 2021 Author Posted August 13, 2021 System is in their office and I think company I work for wants setup in our office so that we do not disturb each other much.
Boredguy Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 A typical setup would have all the controllers on a single setup, and you can have the management software on multiple computers to add users/update settings. If they are 2 completely separate systems with their own Database of users/controllers assigned, then taking to Paxton might be best to see if what your wanting to do is possible.
Saadi_y Posted August 17, 2021 Author Posted August 17, 2021 Hi I will update you with progress during the week Thank you for your comments . If you think of anything , pls update here
Saadi_y Posted September 9, 2021 Author Posted September 9, 2021 Hi All Paxton support emailed me following First of all you will need to have the exact same version installed as the server you are trying to connect to, if you don't then the client software will not connect and give you an incompatible version message when trying to log in, secondly the net2 server needs to be running at all times for client software to work. In addition to the ports you have listed below, you will need to have the randomly generated SQL port opened on the firewall as well, this port can be found on the net2 configuration utility on the server machine under the genral tab Following ports will need opening for TCP/UDP traffic 9999, 10001,30718 and following destination ports TCP traffic for 6474 / 6475 UDP traffic for 6476/6477 Randon port for SQL traffic I can now access the remote server Hope it helps someone
