Switching between Mac And PC with only one monitor

Whats the best way i can achieve this? I need to keep both physical devices so a software option is not possible.

 

What is my cheapest option to accomplish this?

i have just done this.. You need a VGA switcher not splitter..

KVM Switch seconded, but what's the what with mac compatability on them?

Im sure you could get a keyboard and mouse thats compatible with both PC and MAC. Or if you werent botherd about sharing the keyboard and mouse just connect the video up to the KVM switch and keep the seperate keyboards and mice.

I've had problems doing that before with KVM's not switching to inputs with no keyboards or mice in as they use the voltage from the keyboard or mouse port to mark it as active.

If you buy a real one that's mains powered they are a LOT more reliable.
