joeball Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 How do I get the excellent mu editor to be the default editor for .py files? (i.e to allow users to double click on a .py file and it open up directly in mu?) Note, the usual 'open with... option is not seeing mu as a a list of potential software to open the file in.
mavhc Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 https://superuser.com/questions/406985/programatically-associate-file-extensions-with-application-on-windows Did you want to do it for 1 user? 1 computer? or a mass of computers and all users?
mavhc Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 So step 1 is to set it as default on one computer, right click .py file, open with, choose another app, more apps, look for another app on this PC, then find mu.exe Step 2 is https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/export-or-import-default-application-associations
