AndyD Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Hi, I hope you are able to help me with something that is puzzling me. Our server is Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 running Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Print Server and Application Server (IIS 6). The server is called dc-01.example.local There are 2 NICs: Internal: x.x.19.10 External: x.x.18.10 DNS has ANAME records as follow: dc-01: x.x.18.10 dc-01: x.x.19.10 site1: x.x.19.10 site2: x.x.19.10 In ISS 6: The default website, set to All Unassigned, port 80 and no host header. This was left from the default installation as I read this is needed for some Microsoft services that use the default website. HOW TO: Use Host Header Names to Configure Multiple Web Sites in Internet Information Services 6.0 Do not assign a host header name to the Default Web Site. Many programs expect the Default Web Site to use an IP address of (All Unassigned), TCP Port 80, and no host header name. site1 added as a website, x.x.19.10, port 80, site1.example.local site2 added as a website, x.x.19.10, port 80, site2.example.local The problem: I can access site1.example.local from the internet browser on the server and workstations. However, when I try to access site2.example.local, I get: MYIPROXY ERROR: host not found. Host site2.example.local is unavailable -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While trying to retrieve the URL: site2.example.local/ nslookup reports back the x.x.19.10 IP address for site1 and site2 Pinging site1 and site2: Ping statistics for x.x.19.10: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms Have you any ideas on how I can access my site2? I suspect this is something to do with the proxy? I have contacted Schools ICT but haven't heard anything back from them yet. Thanks in advance. Andy
AndyD Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 Figured it out Had to add the site2 to my bypass proxy rule in ISA 2004.
