Janyo Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Hi, I wonder if anyone could help. Our school is buying 8 ipads for our teachers only to use in classrooms mainly to take photos/videos, use iMovie. I have never worked with ipads and feel a bit stuck. What would be the best way to deploy them without doing every single one individually? Can I use one school account to manage those? We are a TRSUTNet school. I have read that using Meraki MDM is the way forward. I would be very grateful for any help with this. Many thanks,
Sibrows Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Without a shadow of a doubt get an MDM, Meraki is fine but trying to manage the iPads individually is going to give you an unnecessary headache. I would consider getting some outside help if, based on your post, this is out of your comfort zone. Get someone to get Apple School Manager all setup and functioning correctly and so your ready for the inevitable next batch or class set Your reseller should be able to help or there are plenty of other suppliers who can assist.
XiJ Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 I’d consider Mosyle over Meraki. Free tier to start (ideal for 8 iPads) and. Wet reasonable if/when you need the paid for tier. As above you also need to apply for and set-up and Apple School Manager account.
speakercon Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 I've recently gone through this process myself, (having never delved into the iOS management world before) and with some help from Edugeek I have everything up and running. Step 1 - Create an apple school manager account - https://school.apple.com/#enrollment Step 2 - Choose an MDM to remotely manage your iPads (I chose Lightspeed and am very happy with it) - https://www.lightspeedsystems.com/en-uk/solutions/lightspeed-mobile-device-management/ Step 3 - Purchase iPads from an Apple Authorized Reseller so they can be automatically enrolled in ASM. Step 4 - Link your ASM account to your MDM system and setup your policies and App requirements and off you go. 1
