miracast over ethernet

I've observed that miracast works over ethernet now. The setup: a wifi laptop connecting to a wired PC (on the same network) PC also has a wifi card but is not associated with any netoworks. The PC is using the connect app.

 

Wifi still has to be present on both devices to establish a connection, when I open task manager (on the PC, after connection) you can see a wifi-direct has been created but no traffic passes. The network activity (on the regular ethernet) is around 5 to 10 Mbit of usage always.

 

I'm not sure if anyone cares but there it is.

It's called Miracast over Infrastructure if people want to search for it
