Renfield-64 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 I don't often use Teams myself but we are encouraging staff to use it as part of our 365 sub. If a user is typing a new email and she starts to enter a contact name (outside of org.) that she has emailed before then it offers up names as you would expect. If she is creating a new Teams meeting and starts to type names it doesn't. She may not have had Teams meetings with these people before but surely it should make a connection between Outlook and Teams? Is this not the case? Thanks,
chazzy2501 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 you could use outlook to create the teams meetings. The auto complete should work as you'd expect. if the user has the teams app installed then the teams option will appear in outlook when you create a new meeting.
Renfield-64 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 Hi, they all use Teams through the browser so I can't see any option through Outlook to create a Teams meeting
chazzy2501 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 outlook desktop client, this would require the desktop teams app to be installed also. but I guess this might be quite the departure for them. All our staff have outlook and I said they can install teams if they wish. (which most have, as you don't need admin permissions)
Renfield-64 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 Hi, OK, none of us use the desktop client but if that's a way around it then they could do that. Thanks
Renfield-64 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 Ah! so create the Teams meeting in calendar. OK Thanks,
lmrogers Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Interestingly I have a user at my place who experiences something similar when using Teams in a browser. There is no auto complete, but if he does the same in the desktop app then it begins to autocomplete.
Renfield-64 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 Yes we've just tried it with the calendar on the browser version and it still doesn't autocomplete.
