I am trying to get a clear picture of the pros and cons of moving away from SalamanderSoft to the O365 integration service that Bromcom offer. Is anyone else looking at this and have any thoughts to offer?

Our IT provider is concerned at the 'either on or off' provisioning and also at the amount of work needed to switch until I pointed out that we would switch at the start of the academic year when all that work needs to be done anyway to set up promoted year groups, new classes and so on. But the everything on/off is still the major concern for them. I am coming at this from a purely financial pov - we pay for bromcom one stop shop so why not use it. SalamanderSoft may not charge very much, relatively, but I am trying to get a handle on whether it is sufficiently better to keep paying.

Salamandersoft can do local Active Directory sync as well as Office 365.

Bromcom can only do a sync with Azure so isnt really useful until you go completely Office 365 native without local AD.

We have salamandersoft and it works well with Bromcom, pretty much set and forget once setup. I find the price perfectly acceptable.

Really useful thank you. And much more straightforward than the answer we got from our IT providers. They didn't mention the AD/Azure issue at all so that is new information.

I saw the one in february/march time - really useful, but I think our IT people are coming from a different position and knowledge so I might see if there is one they can sign up to.
