karldenton Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 Hi all We have the DfE Geo laptops. When we image them, we get the error below "Checking the connection to Microsoft, this might take a while" MDT works with desktops Any ideas please
lukemason12 Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Hi Karldenton, I had exactly the same. Are you using USB Network adapter? I have MDT inject all my drivers for machines but found after exporting the drivers from a working GeoBook and importing them into MDT I got the issue you had above. What fixed it for me was to remove all drivers for the GeoBook from MDT except the one LAN driver needed and then in the Database point the driver folder to the blank one in MDT. Images fine every time now.
Bhavesh78 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Hi why not use USB bootable Clonezilla to backup the image and deploy them .. that why i did on all DFE GEO, ASUS , DynaBook etc. and its works treat.. no problem using the Clonezilla Give a go ..
Boredguy Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Only issue I have with MDT deployment to our Geobooks is the audio driver is not being detected properly so have to install it manually afterwards, we are using a Startech USB NIC to build them with and already imported both version 1 and version 2 of the Geobook 114 drivers into our MDT driver repository.
mketteley Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Can't believe this worked...but it did. The exact driver you need to leave behind is Realtek Net rtux64w10.INF 10.38.0117.2020. Rebuild the deployment share only with this driver (Right click Deployment Share / Properties / Windows PE Tab - Drivers and Patches Tab / Select GeobookE1 Selection profile that you should already have set up, You probably need to only look at the selection profile for the task sequence as well). Thanks Lukemason12.
