an email from ess sims

so today i got an email from ess sim stating " In February, ESS SIMS was acquired by new owners, we are no longer part of Capita. We are excited about our new ownership and their sole focus on education, they have committed substantial investment to enhance the software solutions and service we offer you, not only to address MATs’ needs now but for the future."

 

 

and at the very bottom of the email it also states "Yours sincerely,

so which is it a capita company or not

Yeah, we noticed that. All the updates have changed the company name but still have CAPITA plastered all over it.

 

On the positive side, I had to phone them a couple of days ago to organise a change of DFE number with our new local authority - answered phone within a couple of rings and problem immediately solved!

Strictly speaking Capita ESS Ltd is a separate company and not connected to Capita. Formed in May 2020, presumably to enable the ESS assets to be transferred to it by Capita for sale.

Looks like Tiger Uk Bidco Limited took over officially on 29 Jan 2021. I imagine that the official name will be changed, but these things all take time and in the meantime they are doing the correct thing by stating the official company name.

The company is still Capita ESS Limited. It isn't owned by Capita, it's owned by Tiger UK Bidco Ltd.

 

Bit like how the cable company is Virgin Media, but it isn't owned in any way, shape or form by Richard Branson anymore.
