Server can ping other servers but not access shares?

I have a Windows 2012 R2 Server that can ping other servers but won't allow me to browser to their shares via explorer : so if I put \\server\c$ - I get the standard Windows cannot find this check the spelling and try again!

 

I can ping the other servers fine and I can browse to Windows 10 C drives - just seems to be affecting browsing to other servers.

 

GPUPDATE is broken too - but suspect that's because it can't browse to other shares.

 

Latest MS updates applied - Server is on WSUS OK.

 

Tried a couple of reboots.

 

Checked all automatic services are started.

 

If I try to browse using IP address I get the same error message.

 

I have another Windows 2012 R2 Server that is working fine.

 

Both servers are on VMWare.

 

Anyone able to offer any suggestions on what to look to troubleshoot?
