He IT People,

I would like some help with vmware network settings please. I have a wired bridge connection direct to my network at home that works fine. I am trying to add my wireless card to the vmware network. I can add anew network via virtuall network editor and called if you like vmnet9 , add as a bridged connection and point it to my wireless card fine.

But when i add the new network to a virtual machine it does not pick up any wire less SSID to connect too ?

Thank You in advance

You'll need to pass through the hardware to the virtual machine. With it bridged as you say the VM just sees it as as a network connection it does not matter to the VM whether it is wireless or what ever.

I'm guessing you are using VMWare workstation?

Can I jus enquire what you are hoping to achieve.

It is not the wireless settings I don't think. The OS on the VM would surely need to see it as a piece of hardware and for that you would need something like PCI passthrough. I'm not sure how that is done on VMWare Workstation.
