vijayg Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 He IT People, I would like some help with vmware network settings please. I have a wired bridge connection direct to my network at home that works fine. I am trying to add my wireless card to the vmware network. I can add anew network via virtuall network editor and called if you like vmnet9 , add as a bridged connection and point it to my wireless card fine. But when i add the new network to a virtual machine it does not pick up any wire less SSID to connect too ? Thank You in advance
Davit2005 Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 You'll need to pass through the hardware to the virtual machine. With it bridged as you say the VM just sees it as as a network connection it does not matter to the VM whether it is wireless or what ever. I'm guessing you are using VMWare workstation? Can I jus enquire what you are hoping to achieve.

Davit2005 Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 (edited) Thanks Davit2005 Yes i am using vmware workstaion. I am doing some testing with deployment and want the machine to pick wireless settings. how would i pas through the wireless setting please ? It is not the wireless settings I don't think. The OS on the VM would surely need to see it as a piece of hardware and for that you would need something like PCI passthrough. I'm not sure how that is done on VMWare Workstation.
