oododkodkdo Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Hey all, I’m just wondering on how to restart a VeriCool client machine from the touchscreen? And sometimes once it reboots, it shows the Windows login. What would usually the default password be? Thanks in advance
ITJS2015 Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 The only way to restart it from the touch screen is that you are made a full admin within the system. It should automatically log you in with the software to boot up within the startup folder. No passwords should be required

Some of the students somehow have been able to restart the machine somehow. It shows the windows login screen for us. I’ll most likely contact support to lift the password. Anyone have any idea how a student can restart a VeriCool client from the touchscreen?
ITJS2015 Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 That's weird...... I have not used vericool in years but i would speak to ken Ferdinand if he is still there
Chris_Cook Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 It could be they have guessed the admin password. If its the same as we had years ago, it wouldn't take many guesses. They also could have plugged a keyboard in and done Ctrl+Alt+Del/Win+L. I think its possible to reboot from the sign out screen, but that should auto log back in. I'd try restarting, and checking that auto-login is still working. It could also be that it locks when in standby, maybe if the power button has been changed to standby rather than shutdown. Their support can probably help you out.

USB isn’t accessible from the outside of the machine and I wouldn’t expect someone carrying a keyboard to shutdown the machine. What’s the default admin password anyways as I’m trying to login?
