Edu-IT Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/uknews/14419281/major-fire-breaks-out-at-school-explosion/ Is this anyone on here? Hopefully nobody is injured. Edit: Looks like they're having works on the roof?
Edu-IT Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) Video here showing the blaze. It is understood workers were carrying out felt repairs on the roof when the drama unfolded. Edited March 22, 2021 by Edu-IT
paulkerton Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Edit: Looks like they're having works on the roof? Potentially hot works? With people in the building? Hope they've got all the paper work in order. Sounds like there have been "no casualties". Which is good, but that's usually code for people have been injured, which isn't good. HSE will be all over this.

Looking on the video at all the contractors, and based on the tender document, I think it's likely that the roof works are involved. Shame for the school who have just not long opened after lockdown.
webman Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Wasn't it roof works that also caused a fire for a fellow EduGeek school a few years ago, and ended up being rebuilt?
hardtailstar Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Video here showing the blaze. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olx2IsNU9ok Bit of bad language happening now and then.
