We have 2 different streams of schools thus we have two SIMS servers.

We have techs who need access to both deployments on their PC's so they can push SIMS out to users from either of the schools.

Can it be done?

If I've understood you correctly, that the techs would like a single SIMS Deployment Server (SDS), then that doesn't make sense to me. SDS is not just about pushing the SIMS application to a device, it also handles Database patches and upgrades, and each school must have an agreement with a SIMS Support Unit to receive the appropriate packages, which could actually be different for each school.

As DJ-1701 pointed out, it makes more sense to RDP to the SDS for each school to handle the appropriate tasks. If what you're asking is can the SIMS application be deployed more efficiently from a single deployment platform, then yes it can, but that will depend on communication between the two networks.

Do you know if they already use a particular RMM or Software Deployment platform for other things?

We have two teams... Systems & Desktop Support...

Systems will deal with the patching side of things.

We need Desktop support to deploy or fix client related issues.

As part of our security policies, desktop support are now allowed to logon on to servers.

I have installed the deployment ui on there computers for one stream of the school but how do I have another one installed.

Ideally I'm looking for two desktop shortcuts on their PC's one for each deployment database.

Could you build a virtual machine on their desktop, and have the second one on there? Or get the systems team to build a RDP server and run the second as a remote app?

That's a bit much trouble for something that should be straightforward.

Where is the configuration file kept for the deployment service?

How does it now which server to connect to?
