Richo Print providers

Afternoon all,

 

We're looking into renewing the lease on our printer fleet, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Richo as a supplier/support company they wouldn't mind sharing (I've use their printers before but always bought through 3rd parties).

My experience with Ricoh was never particularly great (not used them for 4 years now, so don't know if it's changed). Slow repair times, never having parts to hand, and always trying to upsell services. reasonable print quality, poor customer service practices.

 

My personal preference is always try and find a reliable, local 3rd party supplier - you get to support a local business, and get the benefits of having that local contact point. Sometimes it works out marginally cheaper, sometimes marginally more expensive, but for the ones we worked with, it was always there or there abouts with better service.

We had a good experience with Ricoh. The price was competitive and the machines were reliable - most service calls were due to abuse and then they eventually got to the point where there were wear and tear items, but that was after over a million impressions.

 

I suspect the service level depends significantly on who covers your patch and how close they are based to the school. Our guy lived a few hundred metres from the school, so he always either came the same day on his way home or first thing the following morning before he went anywhere else. Some of his sites were over and hour and a half drive away, so I suspect they didn't get quite as good service, however good his intentions were.

 

Talk to your neighbouring schools and ask Ricoh if they've got any schools using them local to you. I knew that the maintenance technician lived locally before we signed [emoji57]
