Looking for some advice, I have a 3200 Meru controller with 69 x 822e access points, I keep getting complaints about the network in general, as ever users struggle to give you specifics. However I have noticed that devices with AC cards do often end up connecting at 2.4 with speeds around 144mbps. We are using virtual cell with 2.4 on 20mhz and 5 using 40mhz. I am thinking of reconfiguring it to get rid of the virtual cell tech and go back to AP's selecting their own channels.

I see others have tried this just wondering if anyone had any recent experience http://www.edugeek.net/forums/wireless-networks/211434-wireless-issues-meru.html

Or if there is anything else I can try.

Thanks in advance!

Just so you know the MC3200 controller goes end of life 15/11/2023... I've currently using it with over 100AP's and don't have an issue... You should be able to use the 40Mhz extension without any issues to improve speed at 2.4Ghz...

Hi, thanks for the heads up, i actually have three across three different sites! I swapped over to using native cell and ARRP last night and performance seems much better today. So you are using 40Mhz on 2.4 and 5 bands? Can i ask if you are using above or below too?

Cheers

Ap's have 2 radios in them.. Set one to AC which operates in 5Ghz , left mine at channel 36 in a 80Mhz band. The other radio is configured for BGN which is 2.4Ghz. This is on channel 1 with the 40Mhz extension above. My laptops normally connect quite fast but then I'm lucky to have plenty of AP's
