Papercut - Silent Install for Mobility Print

Hello I want to put the Papercut mobility print client into my off domain laptop MDT Task Sequence, but there is no silent/command line install option.

 

 

during install the client asks for printer name, username and password so something like this would be good:

 

pc-mobility-print-printer-setup.exe /quiet /printername /username /password

 

 

Any ideas? Does anyone do this?

We deploy the Mobility Print MSI via GPO, users click on a web link which adds the Mobility Print enabled printers to the device.

is there an MSI install of the mobility client? can you specify printer name (driver) to install and the username and password to use for subsequent print jobs?

you get the msi from the mobility server page iirc.

 

It will setup then install printers as configured in papercut once the user logs in, this can be done through the various auth methods you can configure.

Thanks, if I tell you what we are trying to solve maybe you can suggest?

 

- we have some netbooks not on the school domain

- they need to print from a single 'student' user account on the netbook

- at the printer they need to be prompted for papercut username and password to release the job

Install the print deploy client from the papercut admin panel(dont rename the file, papercut pulls the ip from the filename), it will prompt the user on the laptops for domain login/googlelogin and then the associated account will be used to release at the printer?

Setup accepts these parameters, so saveinf then loadinf may work?
