Issue opening Office 365 encrypted documents

We're currently having issues when users receive encrypted emails containing word documents etc. They open fine using Word online but when attempting to open using The Local version of word an error says "user does not have the correct credentials to access the document"

 

We're using Office 2016 and users are signed into Office using their M365 accounts so I'm not sure why this is happening

 

Any help is greatly appreciated

Try use the latest 365 client apps rather than Office 2016.
