Dumpton20 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Supposedly V1607 Win10 build on newer machines like the HP 250 G6/G7 do not have drivers suitable to run these other than the basic video driver. Has anyone got a solution, as the new machines do not support dual screen with these drivers and connect change brilliant through F keys
LeMarchand Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 None of the drivers at HP Support any good? https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-250-g6-notebook-pc/15747807 https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-250-g7-notebook-pc/24381316 May be different in LTSB, but I've found that the drivers in Optional Updates finds most things these days.
Dumpton20 Posted February 24, 2021 Author Posted February 24, 2021 Unfortunately not - The Win10 Education LTSB V1607 only loads the basic video adaptor. I've tried the sp79989, sp79986 and some of those above V1607+ but they're incompatible. Even on the HP forum there are others with similar issues but not solution as yet.
bald_pig Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 I'd recommend updating to a version of Windows 10 that is still being updated by Microsoft.
Michael Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 I'm currently working on an HP 255 G7 with LTSC19 on it. If the HP 250 uses Intel UHD graphics (I suspect it does), like the HP 255, you will need LTSC19 or stick with basic graphics (not recommended).
Dumpton20 Posted February 24, 2021 Author Posted February 24, 2021 Yes, i thought as much, and i know the LTSC21 is due later in the year. Any other workarounds until then?
Michael Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Unfortunately no, other than stick with basic graphics, which is fine until someone plugs in a VGA or HDMI cable and get nothing. LTSC19's absolutely fine and is a mature OS.
LeMarchand Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 If you just want a duplicated external display and only have a few to worry about, might be worth external splitters.
