[mdt] HP Changes Name

We have 30 Hp Elitebooks that refuse to keep the name we set by MDT- every other machine we have, 1000+, do not have this issue.

 

Once the build is complete the name is the machines serial number not the one specified in the task sequence.

 

Has anyone seen this?

Have you got a cheeky script in the task sequence that’s overriding the initial setting? Perhaps with a filter so it only runs on these?

nope only setting is in the customsettings.ini

Worth creating another task sequence?

Good idea- happen on two different installs of MDT across my two sites so its a real hard one to resolve

That is really strange! I wonder if it's a particular driver interacting with the task sequence, but not seen anything like that here with fairly diverse hardware. Not tried my HP Elitebooks with MDT yet - they may do the same!
