USB to Firewire 4 pin cable

Im after a USB to Firewire (4 pin cable) but cannot find anyone that sells them.

 

Can someone help me out on this please.

Only reason I ask is that I was looking for the same thing recently and came across this:

I'm always a bit wary about converters though.....

Depending on which way around you want it, you can get USB hubs that have a firewire port on them. USB plugs into computer and gives you extra USB ports and a firewire

Its for a Camcorder, but the machine it is connected to, wont accept PCI cards as it is a USFF machine. I have seen retractable cables, but i dont think they will handle the speeds.

That was my first thought but no reason why it shouldn't - after all, they're both serial protocols so it shouldn't be that hard. There are USB to RS232, Parallel, Ethernet adapters and you can also get devices which plug into USB and give video and audio.

Those are bridging devices with logic inside them, that adaptor posted above looks to be just that a connection adaptor.

So you have a camcorder with firewire and you want to plug it into a pc's usb port?

 

Sorry but that ain't going to work.
