MS Streams - odd issues

Staff are recording lessons and then sharing them via Streams.

 

All students have Stream Licenses assigned to them.

 

Staff add the relevant group to the video permissions or change to allow company wide - depending on the video.

 

I have a small number of students that have permission denied issues.

 

They can sign into Office 365 - nothing blocked.

 

Streams can see they have a license assigned but they still getting permission denied.

 

Anyone else come across this?

We had this where it worked if they were browser based, but got access denied/not found/please sign in messages if they were using the app. Didn't find a fix.

I think we were getting a similar message on some ios devices, it wasn't able to play the codec but came up with a permission issue. Really I want to say is don't take the error message at face value, see if the effected pupil can download the video. (or install the stream app on the device, if in fact it is an ios issue) it'll still not work but give a different error message. or remove stream if that is the issue.

I’ve removed and re-added the stream licence.

 

I’ve tried on Edge and Chrome on a desktop using the student details still gives a permissions error.

 

I’ve even tried sharing to named student without success.

 

Think might log it with Office 365 support.

Turns out I had the wrong stream licence assigned!

 

There is Stream (Trial) as a licence

 

And as part of student facility there is Streams E3 - or there is for us. Not sure if this because our staff have E3 licenses.

 

One I applied the Steams E3 app licence everything started working for students.
