Connecting iPhone to PC problem

Not sure if this is a windows problem or an IOS, please move if needed.

 

Head showed me his laptop that cannot connect to his iphone via USB to access photos. On the laptop when connected to the iphone the USB device icon in the system tray flashes on and off continuously. In settings / bluetooth & other devices, the iphone appears and disappears continuously. The iphone works fine when connected to another PC. On the iphone I have reset location and privacy settings.

 

Any ideas?

Is phone trying to charge from Laptop causing power drain and disconnects?

 

Is laptop plugged in when you test?

Is iTunes installed? Pretty sure you need this for it to work properly when connected to a computer.

I do not have iTunes on my PC and could access the photos just fine.

Sounds like a duff cable to me?
