DSAGEY Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I have recently got our IP range increased, it was originally 10.41.90.0 - 10.41.90.255 it was changed to 10.41.88.0 - 10.41.95.255, for some reason the devices only have internet connection when they have the 10.41.90 range, I have a few devices that have picked up a 10.41.88 range but they internet access. So it seems to be any picking up from the new range can't get internet, I had the DCHP altered, by our server company but still having issues. Thanks
networkmangler Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 I would think that you have a proxy server? Or some type of web filter? I would assume the IP details for what ever you use were entered manually and are set to static so won't pickup any changes from the DHCP I would check the subnet mask on your proxy and update it to the new one, this will hopefully resolve the problem
strawberry Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Does the new DHCP list a gateway and DNS servers? Are they reachable?
DannyG555 Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Sounds like a subnet mask issue somewhere and you have gone from a mask of 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.248.0. Would suggest checking your DHCP to make sure clients are getting configured with the new subnet mask.
foofighterjim Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Are your switch configs all correct? i.e. if you are running a flat network, you'll need to update the switch IPs into the correct range (or restart them if they're set to DHCP). If running VLANS, have you adjusted the DHCP settings for the relevant scope correctly?
DSAGEY Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Thank you for all your support - it turned out that there was a Firewall preventing the devices from connecting to the internet.
