johbreaking Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Got a strange issue with home setup. I am trying to share internal drive (D) with another computer. Have shared it and from my laptop I can navigate to it and it gives me the username and password box but it keeps saying the password is wrong but it is not.
Jcx500 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Are the Permissions Correct? Try browsing to D$ and see what that says 1
Rob_D Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 I'm sure you're already doing this, but... Are you using the right domain? If you're using an account on the sharing PC for permissions then the username needs to be formatted computername/username otherwise it will default to using the other PC as the user domain. 1
johbreaking Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 Yep done all of the above, tried ip address as the pc as well and still the same outcome
johbreaking Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 The error seemed to piggyback off this error https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24933661/multiple-connections-to-a-server-or-shared-resource-by-the-same-user-using-more after stopping the service it worked!
