Hi

We've just started to roll out Lanview3 to a few client machines with the VNC MSI from the MST website, it's all looking great.

But...

When I preview, or when I remote into a machine, it causes the desktop background to change.

Is there a cause for this?, can I rectify?

On the CLIENT machine, there is an tick option in VNC (not LANview) to not remove wallpaper. It's in the default local system properties, under the "misc" section, top selection "Remove wallpaper for viewers". Untick it.

Try that.

ahh yes found it, in winvnc, right click on icon and go to properties, then uncheck the box "remove desktop wallpaper on client connections"

I'm using the MSI that comes from the MST site, and I don't think there's an option to do that :(

In VNC, not LANview (?)

Yup, in the packaged version of TightVNC from the MST website.

TightVNC is a tad different to the VNC I'm using (UltraVNC) so I can't help in that case. My version has a clear option to not remove the desktop background.
