Anybody using LAPS? i have a question about the fat client UI

We're looking to introduce LAPS on our site to manage the local admin passwords https://4sysops.com/archives/introduction-to-microsoft-laps-local-administrator-password-solution/

 

Just wanted to ask if any of you using it and run the LAPS UI from a remote/machine/network share instead of installing on to each client?

 

I can't seem to find the answer to that.

Each machine will get a small LAPS client installed that manages the local password. You can then install the full client on your servers and technician workstations to then look up passwords from the database. I have the full LAPS client installed on both our DCs and our two workstations. I can remote to them any use the client without issues.

Deployed LAPS last summer. We've got a VM with the fat client and a variety of other IT support utilities that the team can RD to and use. Do want to get overlaps at some stage, but it's not really a priority at the moment.

 

Did find this free alternative https://github.com/lithnet/laps-web. Tried getting it up and running but can't stand IIS, so moved on!
