I do think it's a bit fishy, but I think they've played their cards right. They're looking to lure in all the customers that have been unable to secure an Nvidia card. I suspect that they'll be on-par (or 5-10% off) compared to Nvidia for like-for-like cards on raw gaming performance. Introduce ray tracing though, and Nvidia will wipe the floor with them. I guess we'll find out in 15 minutes anyway!

linus review seems to show its similar to the 3000 series as long as you dont want rayracing but is missing stuff like dlss (or their equivalent) looks like its close at least but id rather have a 3000 series

I think we can safely assume that all the new AMD cards that were in the system are now sold.

General consensus seems to be that AMD are roughly on-par with outright performance, but are severely lacking in the ray tracing and AI upscaling departments.

It's a bit like being a kid and looking in the catalogues at stuff your parents could never afford to buy you, or in this (and Nvidia's) case just not available to mere mortals.

Just watched Linus's review and he's delivered the same verdict. Simply not worth it, although he's a bit nicer about it. At least there won't be masses of people trying to buy it straight away!

The component market is madness atm. Bought a 5700XT for £370 new in July, bought a 3060Ti last week in the 15 minutes before they went out of stock everywhere, and on Sunday it only took 9 hours to sell the 5700XT used on eBay for... £370. Basically paid £1 in listing fees to rent that card for five months before upgrading to an RTX card.
