ITGURU Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 We have students logging in as following: 20SurnameInitial 19SurnameInitial etc based on their intake year and username. Whats the quickest way to create dynamic email distribution groups in office 365, for each year using the year and a wildcard so if students start 20*... they are in a 2020 intake email distribution group, 19 in a 2019 distribution group etc. Thanks.
Mako Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Do you synchronise your active directory accounts and groups to O365? Assuming you have AD security groups for year groups, turn them into a mail-enabled security group and it'll take care of itself. It'll by dynamic in the sense that it will update when your on-prem syncs to O365, but they won't strictly be a "dynamic O365" group, which is an actual separate thing. Alternatively, something like Salamander might take care of it.
