Can anyone tell me how I can stop students being start chats with other pupils and staff member who are not part of the team?

In the Meetings Policy, disabling chat will stop the one to one chat feature for users assigned to that policy (we use the Group Policy assignment to give the Secondary_Student policy to our kids.

Am I correct in thinking that disabled chat totally for them? As in if a member of staff sends them a direct message it doesn't come through?

That is correct, if you try and send a message to that user it says "Administrator has disabled chat for this user"

But what about when a student replied to a teacher? Is it still disabled as we use a custom policy which chat is disabled but they can still reply
