discoveranother Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 Hi all, We use Smoothwall filtering in our primary schools we service, which I am getting more and more used to managing over the last 3 years. However, just wondered if others have used Smoothwall or considered it and are using alternatives to Smoothwall. Smoothwall can be quite expensive and the support service can be very frustrating at times, I wondered if others are using a filtering system that is user-friendly, affordable and the support service is good ? Thanks all
Davit2005 Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 I've used Bloxx and Sophos before. I had a demo of McAfee web filter 10 years back and it was horrible. Sophos was very good as a standalone web filter. Try to get a Demo of a few units if you can to compare.

Thanks all Happy to arrange a demo of Sophos XG for you if you need. No obligation. We offer an annual payment, inclusive of unlimited helpdesk for any adds/moves/changes as well as troubleshooting, so overall think it's pretty cost-effective. PM me if you're interested. cheers
paulkerton Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Look at cloud solutions like Securly and Lightspeed. As everything moves to the cloud, the idea that your filtering should continue to stay on-site seems to be a fool's errand. 1
Securly_Marc Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 happy to set up a demo for Securly and provide pricing for you - all of our support is included free of charge and as we only sell to schools, we're designed to be user friendly for both technical users and safeguarding teams. Thanks, Marc 1
Cat_Jam148 Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Look at cloud solutions like Securly and Lightspeed. We've just deployed Securly and I can't recommend it enough - gets a thumbs up from me 1
