Duplicate staff records on sims

Hi, I have noticed that a colleague have input 2 entries for a few number of staff.

Therefore when I run a staff report it duplicates quite a few people.

However I don’t know how to delete entries. Please help

This sometimes used to happen if staff were entered for timetabling but not linked to an employee record. One appears as Staff and visible in timetables, the other not. Or some weird double entry.

 

You used to be able to check in System Manager and run a filter for ALL/Any to see them. There is one entry that is linked as staff and appears in the Classroom Staff screen, and the other was a user. You should be able to remove them from there, but might need to temporarily rename one from the staff screen so you can tell them apart.

 

If you're actually seeing duplicates in the Classroom Staff screen, you should be able to unlink and remove them so they don't appear in reports.

Unfortunately this member of staff does not have any user group attached to them as they are a GAP student.

Therefore the details were created on Sims simply with their personal details. So I am unable to inactive details from System Manager.

 

I have also had a look at the deleting staff, and it does show both records, however not as clear as just deleting from Routines - Staff - Delete Staff

 

Any other ideas please?

Are they a former student of your school?

Either way, you'll have to look at the data linked to them when you try the delete routine and remove those links in order to delete one copy of them, that's assuming the data indicates that you need to.
