I have been experiencing these same issues on/ off for over 1 year. Capita is rubbish in responding, escalating this to 2nd line and I have to constantly chase. No other school apps seems to have these issues, I think the problem is having to sign in with a third party platform, totally unnecessary. As a parent I use Go4 schools and EduLink and have never experienced these issues. The SIMS parent app is just a joke. One minute you are in, the next you can no longer access. I currently have a number if cases logged with them via this. And I still don’t understand why parents can’t simply just reset a password when they have forgotten it.

This would be great! However I am off for the summer holidays now until August. So therefore unable to configure this until I return. Can you send me the basics set this up

Yes we are storing these under achievements. But I wonder how a report can be run for house points to represent the house? Or would I need to run 4 different reports with students in each house, and then combine their total of points to get the total for the house?

Thank you, I will give this a try tomorrow when I am in school. In our school we have houses, and students are assigned to one of the houses, and throughout the year, students enters competitions and will earn house points. At the end of each term, academic year these are totalled and award would be given to the highest achieving house, and the highest achieving student. The problem I came across was when I imported a report it gave the totals of points for an student since they have been on roll, and not the total for a particular academic year, and would also give you the ‘count’ of each time a house point was recorded, and not the total of points combined. eg, a student can have 2 entries of house point, one is for 1 house point, and the other could be 2 house point, which would equals 3 house points, however the count would state 2. I hope I am making sense here!

I am trying to configure a report which we can use to identify the highest house points student achiever for the academic year and summer term, and the highest house which achieved the highest points for the summer term and academic year, I found one which was imported, however it gives the total points for the student since they have been on roll, and when I try to filter this by academic dates, it still gives the same total. And there is a points count, which I belief is for the filtered dates, however this identifies the number of times a house point has been rewarded, and not the total of these, eg a house point can house point 1, house point 2 or house points 3. I hope I am making sense here, any suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi, No I am not after their timetable. I want a report which can pick up all teachers that teaches a year group. So if I was organising a year 7 parents evening, I can run a report which shows the teachers that teaches year 7 and the subject. As not all the teachers teaches every year group. I hope I am making sense here!

I would like to create a report which shows the teachers teaching year groups. For example all year 7 teachers, year 8 and so for. This is needed for parents evening and information being sent to lower school and upper school. I have looked on sims but unable to find a filter which allows this.

We have just started using sims parent app and there is so much I don’t understand and can really do with help ASAP! 1. When you run a report on sims and upload, does this automatically save on the students linked documents profile? And how do I then notify parents to view the app for reports? 2. As a independent school there are a few extra curricular subjects, we would like to create a separate report away from the main report and upload this is a linked document on to sims? How do I do this? And can parents view this on the app? 3. A parent is having difficulty logging on the app. Initially had the app a few years ago when the school purchased the parent app, but it wasn’t managed successfully and has not been in use, as a new sims data administrator I have just reinvited parents to join, and sent out new invites to those who are new. This parent forgot her login, so I unregistered the account and then reinvited with a new code. However it states an error message that the details are invalid, any ideas why please? 4. As an independent school, we have a large amount of international students, for example China, Nigeria and Europe. Is the sims app compatible with those abroad using email addresses ending in qq.com

I would just go to focus, student behaviour, detentions, and set an detention there. The drop box you can add in your own reasons for detention.

Hi, A colleague of mine can not access the staff details - employment details. I have had a look at permissions/ users - and Sims has sent a list stating that the employee will need Personnel Officer. This staff member already has this so I can not figure out why they can still not see this? Can someone help?

Many thanks for this. Unfortunately this member of staff does not have any user group attached to them as they are a GAP student. Therefore the details were created on Sims simply with their personal details. So I am unable to inactive details from System Manager. I have also had a look at the deleting staff, and it does show both records, however not as clear as just deleting from Routines - Staff - Delete Staff Any other ideas please?
