TFT vs CRT ???????

I really do not see the point of glass fronts, what's the price difference now? Last time I looked you had to have >10% failure rate to make it worthwhile.

 

I've been here 5 years now, we have around 500 TFTs and I think I've had about 3 broken either maliciously or accidentally.

That's perfectly possible in some school environments! Not yours (or mine, thankfully), but definite some others...

In the two rooms we've had problems with, we had breakage of over 50% so it was worth going with the glass ones. Not a single normal TFT broken elsewhere

 

Mind you, we've had a hard glass one broken as well when one pupil decided to assualt another one with it

We'll be moving on to TFT screens in our next purchasing cycle. Combined with some thin clients, ICT suites will be a lot cooler, easier to maintain and cheaper to run. Things are looking up.

We've got less than 250 and we've had atleast 130 broke either maliciously or accidently. Mind a good 60-80 of them will have been because of Dells crap power socket design.

CRTs produce more radiation and are susceptible to magnetic fields. The increased flicker generated by them also means that they strain the users eyes much quicker than an LCD.

 

This is more than enough of a reason to go with TFT.
