Am I going mad? Is there a USB-C network switch for chromebooks

So i've either invented something in my head or i'm approaching this the wrong way.

 

senario is i have 130 CB to enrol and to place them in an Admin panel OU.

 

We currently have 2 usb to rj45 network adapters, these work fine but i'm gonna have to buy some more...... unless....

 

there's a device that exists that looks like a network switch with a single rj45 port..... and say 8 usb -c ports that can connect to the chromebooks for network access.

 

just thinking out loud, i might need coffee......

id imagine its possible but would be expensive and have few uses outside fairly specific cases. i dont think usbc has native network so it would basically be 8 usbc nics and a switch anyway

Suggest a cup of coffee :-), then to amazon and purchase a cheap network switch, 9 short ethernet cables and a bunch of USB ethernet adapters

 

I don't think you are gaining much apart from a tidier look.

If it's just for enrollment wouldn't a 4G hotspot and a PAYG SIM card be cheaper than an unmanaged switch and USB-C Ethernet adapters?

i'll just grab some more usb to rj45 convertors

Wouldn't an Open SSID purely for this purpose be the best way to do it?

Or just tethering from a phone? That's how I've done it.
