Our Design Engineering department is looking to use SketchUp. A few years ago we had an older version that was provided free with an exe file. Looking into it again now and it looks like it is now browser based for education:

The browser version doesn't have as much functionality according to our teachers so they would like the full version. I can't seem to find a way to get the full version as United Kingdom isn't listed in the country selection.

Has anyone got any experience with this software and how we can get licensed for the pro version?

I also came across this: https://elmtec-sketchup.co.uk/Buy

It seems to use the same logo but not sure it's the same software?

Never used it but our DT dept. decided on Fusion 360 as it’s free and far better than sketchup, creo parametric and spaceclaim.

Just looking at SketchUp Mark 2017 and it installs okay but says it's in a 30 day trial period? Is there are way to install it to get round the trial license and just use the free one?

I've had some more information from purchasing the full version from a supplier. The licenses are £12 (ex-vat) each and are based on concurrent sessions. So you can install it on as many machines as you like but can only have a certain amount running at any one time based on the number of licenses you purchase. The licensing is cloud controlled:

You can buy licenses here: https://www.cadsoftsolutions.co.uk/product/trimble-sketchup-classic-lab-annual/

It can be managed from a web portal or bought as a bunch of certs that you install on each machine yourself. For one machine I bought four keys, two running for the one-off instances and the other two running concurrently, giving me 1 VM per license per license.

Hope you guys can help with another piece of software: Sketchbook. I've looked all over on the sketchbook/autodesk website and can't find any information about a silent install. I've found an exe file and I've spoken to their support that says there is no MSI version available. Does anyone know the switches to make sketchbook install silently/via bat file?

Think I've figured it out for Sketchbook with no help from their support. Basically telling me it's not possible but what bit of modern day software doesn't have silent installation?

I extracted the contents of the exe I downloaded using 7 zip which contained an MSI file that can be used.
