Alternative to SIMS Options Online?

Having moved from SIMS to Bromcom, one of the features I've got to now replace was the options online module (https://www.sims-options.co.uk/).

It allowed students to tell us what subjects they want to study, say, 4 subects and 1 reserve, then it did it's magic and created the best fit block structure for all our GCSE and A Level blocks... typically from a cohort of 100, about 4-6 wouldn't get their first choices and would need a reserve... saved us loads of time.

Is there anything else out there that will do this? or is it back to spreadsheets and macros for me?

One school I was at, we used Google Forms and sheets. Not perfect but OK for us as we were a small school with minimal options. https://www.timetabler.com/options/ might be worth a look. I've not used it and don't know how well it integrates with Bromcom.

Unfortunately we don't currently have a feature on the Bromcom system which can carry out what you have described, but it certainly does sound like it would be a useful feature! If you have access to our Support Portal please do feel free to submit this as a development idea for our software team to look into possibly implementing in the future.

The software mentioned above by 'Ditto' does link to Bromcom MIS, ...the students' Choices can be collected on-line and then processed, and the results transferred directly into the Bromcom MIS.
