I've known microwaves knock out wireless before, but that one was new to me!

No idea, but I think it would be an old CRT (there are still quite a few in use attached to digi boxes.

TBH, given the energy efficiany of modern smart TV's it would be more cost saving to replace it!

All the broadband equipment should be designed and constructed to be immune to EMI. Another of those pesky European laws we want to avoid complying with.

 

Granted the telly probably pre-dates that.

They could probably make a fortune selling that TV on ebay as a broadband disruptor!

 

would be great to know more about this one, sounds like a CRT but surely this would be far more wide spread and they'd be recommending replacement of X if it was operating as expected

I bet the same person with the old TV has an old set of Christmas Tree lights that they'll put up this year that will effect their next door neighboors WiFi!!

 

We need to know the make/model of the TV as if you have bad neighbours you can set a time for it to come on after you've left work work and then at a random time when you get home so they have no WiFi whilst you're at work!

She probably has an old strip light in the kitchen that does wonders for wifi - and for that matter the whole network for several doors in any direction
