Hi all

Not the best with HP switches so was after some advice. WE have one switch which stopped responding last week and found out seems like STP issue based on below logs (from the distribution switch).

Port 6 goes to one of our access switch (which has stopped responding). So I have unplugged all cables from that switch and just left one plugged in that goes to the distribution switch at port 6. But its still throwing up that same error or STP being blocked etc.

Any ideas why this can be still? As im assuming with nothing plugged in the error should stop now

Thanks

You'll need to turn off STP on that port - had it last week with one of our new Arubas (also with nothing plugged into the downstream switch). As soon as another switch was plugged into one of the ports, the management system disabled that port. The command for doing this depends on the switch and OS. Our core has STP turned off for all of the ports that link to edge swiches.
